Identifying Warfare Types

It is evident that many of the inhabitants of earth, including many in the Body of Christ, are totally unaware that there several kinds of wars being waged globally right now as we speak.  The reason why many are totally ignorant of this fact may be found in our definition of warfare.

When you think of warfare, what do you generally think of?  Usually you would think in terms of guns and bombs, blood and smoke.  If the average person does not see or hear the sights and sounds he associates with warfare, he concludes that all is well.  What he does not know is that this attitude of mind is proof that he is already a casualty of the fundamental type of warfare known as propaganda warfare.

Propaganda Warfare

Propaganda warfare is most effective amongst those who have been led to believe they are already very well informed.  They must be led to believe that their sources of information are all valid and above reproach.  In this way, they are rendered defenseless simply because they have lowered their guard.  Most people recognize the basic forms of propaganda when it comes in the form of advertisements, party politics or even some heated radio talk shows. 

Product peddling and political pretensions are often harmless forms of propaganda simply because almost everyone knows the nature of the game being played.  But what happens when we do not know that what we are hearing or reading is propaganda? At that point we are inclined to accept the story because we think it's true.

The Purpose of Warfare

The purpose of propaganda, as well as all types of warfare, is to get your victim to take a certain course of action, even if that action is inaction. In warfare, your goal is to get the opponent to do according to your will.  Your opponent is being forced to bend to your will.  The more violent forms of warfare use physical force and aggression in order to achieve its goal.  Whatever form it takes, the purpose of warfare is to get some person or group of persons to do something your way or to accept some condition you want to impose on them. Let's take a look at some warfare types.

Spiritual Warfare

Most Christians have heard about spiritual warfare.  We've heard a lot about spiritual warfare in the church and there are varying views on the subject.  We have beliefs such as that we are casting down strongholds over communities or that screaming and shouting is somehow going to scare the demon into fleeing the scene.  Much of it is more perspiration than inspiration.  But is our warfare fundamentally that of spiritual warfare?  I submit to you that we are not so much in a spiritual warfare as we are in an information warfare.

Information Warfare

The basis of what we call spiritual warfare is in fact information warfare.  We are in an ongoing information war.  Back in the garden of Eden, Satan was not able to launch a physical attack on Adam and Eve, neither was he able to engage in spiritual warfare.  Satan had to attack the couple using propaganda and a form of information known as misinformation.  I want you to get this.  For instance, the reason why your relatives and friends are still unsaved is that Satan has them in bondage to misinformation.

3. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (II Cor. 4:3,4)

The reason why there are still bondages in your life is because your heart has not yet grasped a relevant truth.  The root of all forms of bondage is some form of a lie.  That's why the Lord said you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Truth by itself won't free you, but the truth that you know and act upon is devastating to the devil and his demons. 

For Lack of Knowledge

Satan has already determined that his most powerful weapon in the Church is to keep the Church in ignorance or misinformed.  Satan doesn't care how much zeal we show in supposedly "binding and casting out demons" as long as all we have is zeal without knowledge.  Israel is in darkness right now simply because they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.  Satan does not have to send raging demons to attack and wipe out whole churches.  He simply has to keep God's people misinformed because they are going to be destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Think of the entire denominations who were led to believe that God does not heal today.  Some are even willing to pay lip service to His ability to heal,  but in practice they deny it.  They refer to psychiatrists and psychologists as "qualified personnel".  Every little pain is an invitation to run to the medicine cabinet or to the physician.  The lack of knowledge that Christ died to deliver us from sin as well as sickness leaves many churchgoers believing that sickness is a necessary evil even as they hold fast to their scripture verses ripped out of context. 

I exhort the Church to come into the knowledge of God's power and willingness to heal before the rider on the white horse arrives. 

1. And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.  (Rev. 6:1,2)

The word translated "bow" in verse two is the Greek word "toxon" from which we get our English word "toxin".  The clear implication is that the rider on the white horse, who is none other than antichrist, is going to achieve worldwide conquest through biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction.  Biological toxins are going to play a major role in the setting up of the New World Order.  I submit to you that the peoples of the earth will gladly accept the solution given them by the rider when faced with the prospect of widespread viral infection.

Brief Outline of Warfare Types

Have you taken note of the different kinds of warfare we have mentioned thus far?  First we had propaganda warfare, then we touched on spiritual warfare, then we spoke of informational warfare, then we spoke about chemical warfare.  There are several other types of warfare we need to take note of. 

One very devastating form of warfare being waged right now is economic warfare.  You'll soon begin to see why you can be a casualty of war and not know it because you were misinformed by those controlling the strings of propaganda as to what warfare is and where it is being fought.  Usually the deception is that it is being fought far away and can be viewed only by means of the television screen.  This puts the victim into a state of false security because he thinks he is far from the battlefield and has nothing to fear.

Unless you can identify the signs that tell what a casualty of war looks and feels like, you could be a casualty and not know it. How?  You were fired upon with one of the most powerful weapons and you fell victim without even realizing it.  What are these weapons?

Weapons Of Mass Distraction

It is said that the main power of a entertainment and or street magician is his ability to distract his audience.  The thief and the pickpocket work on the same principle.  The liar and the con man operate the same way.  The most intense form of distraction is to get your victim to be totally focused on whatever you have directed his attention to.  At that point, whatever you claim to be real becomes real for your victim.  This is the technique used by hypnotists. 

The state of hypnotism is a state of altered consciousness where the mind is so caught up with the suggestions of the hypnotist and he has his subject so under his control that the subject can be taken captive by him at his will.  The subject now believes that reality is whatever the hypnotist says it is and no one can change his or her mind.  That's a powerful weapon of distraction.  Now multiply this ability by several million and you have a weapon of mass distraction.

In order then for weapons of mass distraction to be effective, you need to employ the use of the media and communications industries.  In order to do this effectively, you will need to control the media all forms of mass communications. You will also need to keep hidden from the people that you have perfected the science of deception.  This scientific deception is that deadly form of propaganda as was seen in the garden and Satan has handed down the knowledge to his seed through the ages that it may perfected in the last time.  All these forms of propaganda, deception and misinformation fall under the responsibility and authority of the principality known as the spirit of seduction.

1. Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;  (I Timothy 4:1,2)

Understand this basic principle of our warfare, before Satan can make a move against anyone, he must first send in a seducing spirit which is followed by a demon with a teaching.  The seducing spirit gets your attention and the demon with the doctrine gets your approval.  In other words, the seducing spirit gets you to visualize the possibility and the teaching spirit comes in and traps you with a philosophical rationale. This teaching spirit is a lying spirit. Example, ever heard the expression, "But everyone's doing it"?  That's a lie.  Everyone isn't doing that particular sin the person is trying to rationalize.  Remember, to rationalize is to tell yourself rational lies.

Casting Down Strongholds

If you suppose that strongholds refer to conditions in the heavens, you have been misled by a lying teaching spirit.  The purpose of this lie is to distract you from the main issue at hand.  The issue is that that passage is speaking, not of principalities in the atmosphere, but of mental positions we have taken in our hearts.  What we need to realize is that an inward situation will express itself in an outward situation.

3. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5. Casting down imaginations (margin: reasonings), and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6. And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. (II Cor. 10:3-6)

Let's take a close look at this passage of scripture, because there is much confusion abounding with regard to this passage.  The strongholds are not, I repeat - NOT, in the heavenly places.  The strongholds are conditions of the heart and mind.  Look closely and you'll see that the strongholds are rationalizations held in the mind. 

What Is A Stronghold?

A stronghold is a condition of mind controlled by darkness and overseen by an attendant spirit.  The spirit, of course, is of the same nature as the stronghold.  After the heart and mind have been seduced into agreeing with a certain belief or philosophical position, the spirit in charge of the stronghold needs to supply the stronghold with a powerful glue to hold everything together and that glue is called a reason or, an argument. Understand this: A stronghold will not hold unless the spirit provides his victim with reasons to argue in defense of his condition.

These reasons control his imagination and thought life and are like a computer virus program running in the background at all times.  Whenever the person is challenged as to his belief, or philosophical position on a matter, his mind is immediately flooded with excuses and reasons as to why this is so and why it cannot be any different. 

Think of a hut in the middle of a big yard.  The yard is fenced.  In that yard you have a pack of dogs.  The dogs are silent, that is, until someone approaches the fence.  Then they begin to bark and create a racket.  They are watchdogs.  All demonic strongholds have watchdogs whose job it is to protect the particular kind of error the victim has received.  The Bible calls these watchdogs, reasonings or, imaginations. Understand the counterfeit: God has watchmen - Satan has watchdogs. 

The human counterpart to these watchdogs are called "dumb dogs" (Isa. 56:10,11) or just plain "dogs" (Phil. 3:2). The Messianic Psalm of the prophet David has the Messiah on the Cross quoting Psalm 22 where he says that "dogs have compassed me." (v.16)  At Calvary, Messiah was surrounded by many who were trying to give Him reasons to come down from the Cross. But beyond this He was referring to the religious misleaders who were in fact "the assembly of the wicked." 

So the dogs represent reasonings (and those physical ones who bring their manmade arguments.  Like those who dogged Paul's tracks as he preached the gospel.)  These reasonings can be produced with quick-fire rapidity, especially if they are of long standing. 

That is why the Lord says that you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.  For instance, fear is a very powerful stronghold and the reasonings for not doing certain things can be very persuasive, even while the victim is unaware that he is acting out of fear.  He may even think he is being prayerful or, using "wisdom". 

So the sum of the matter is that a stronghold is set up to affect your belief system so you will cooperate with the enemy to fulfill his purpose for you in any area of your life.  He does this through the introduction of philosophical self-deceptions. Why do we use the phrase "philosophical" in a teaching on warfare?  Because this is a powerful spiritual means of bringing someone into captivity and spoiling both their soul and their substance. 

8. Beware lest any man spoil you (take you captive)  through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (Col. 2:8)

Philosophical contamination is such a powerful weapon of mass distraction that the Holy Spirit moved Paul to write about it.
